Rey's primary focus in treatment is upon the development of client-centred therapeutic relationship where clients may acquire new skills to manage depression and anxiety, strategies and develop new patterns of behaving, feeling and thinking. The therapeutic relationship is one of trust and opens the doorway to explore, collaborate, co-create, and take steps towards meaningful change.
Over the course of the past 18 years, Rey Singh has worked with individuals, couples and families, who have taken meaningful steps towards change in their lives. He utilizes a number of treatment modalities such as Solution-focused therapy and Brief-Narrative therapy, Indigenous healing methods, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to treat mental health diagnosis and addiction. Rey Singh's exposure to both Western and Eastern Healing practices with insider experience and understanding of how spirituality assists the healing process further deepens the effectiveness of his approaches to healing and recovery.
Rey's understanding of trauma and resiliency informs his approach to practice. He has a strong understanding of the neurology of trauma and addiction and harnessing the mind to heal means utilizing therapy which encourages balancing and integration practices. By assisting those he works with, children, youth and adults alike he is able to model and teach skills to calm the anxieties, and methods to encourage the mind to process, order, and integrate new information resulting in health outcomes for his clients. Rey also works with individuals through moments of stress and anxiety by teaching skills to increase tolerance to stress using creative techniques-- guided imagery work, meditation and other mindfulness-based practices. Rey is committed to working with individuals and families alike and is a strong believer of integrating community and family involvement in individual therapy when possible.
